Come join Frank Rigo award winner, Dee Willis and Arizona Photographer of the year, Paul Bartell as they host the 'On the Road series' to the Imperial Dunes in Glamis, CA. This is an overnight trip
staying at the Best Western Plus in Brawley, CA which is about 20 miles from the dunes.
The group will meet up at the Best Western on Sat 8-8-20 in the afternoon and gather for a presentation/discussion on shooting the
dunes then head out for the dunes in the late afternoon and shoot until after sunset at 7:30pm.  There is a Mexican food
restaurant in Brawley called Christine's that has good food and can be a fun place for everyone to have dinner.
The next morning, we are up before dawn, check out and head for the dunes to be there by 5:00 to 5:30 for 6:00 sunrise.  We will shoot the
dunes until about 8:00 am then head back to Phoenix via Blythe.  We generally stop in Blythe at the Denny's for breakfast.  I have done this
trip a couple of times and it is actually a lot of fun.
The standard rate for a room is $109 for a king or 2 queens. It is about 237 miles from Phoenix to Brawley via Blythe and about a 3 1/2 to 4 hours drive time.  Access to where we shoot the dunes is very easy, is entirely paved
and just off CA 78 at the Hugh T. Osborne Overlook Park.
For those who may be willing to shoot midday in August, there is the Salton Sea nearby with some very quirky locations (eg: Bombay Beach
and Salvation Mountain).  They could arrive early on Saturday and shoot these locations as well if any of the group were interested.
