    Moments With Santa

    Kate Mower, CPP

    Date: August 18th, 2018

    Time: 1:30PM - 4:30PM

Location: Address Will Be Provided On Event Registration Receipt

Learn all the ins and outs of how to photograph, market and sell Santa portraits. Kate will have a live demonstration with a real Santa Claus and models.

Kate will go through the process from start to finish covering how to communicate correctly through marketing, how to work with sponsors, what elements you need for a great client experience, and the secret ingredients that make Kate's Santa portraits stand out.

There will be a live demo shoot with Santa and children. There is no need to bring your own camera as the purpose of this demonstration is to show how to work with lots of children who may be difficult to work with and to give behind the scenes experience of how Kate directs and manipulates the situation to create something beautiful. Settings and set up will be shared in detail so you can easily replicate set up.

    Children Character Portraits

    Pete Rezac, M.Photog.Cr., CPP

Pete will go into how he consults with his clients prior to his Children's Character Portrait Session. What he is after and the “Authenticity” that he needs in order to make these type of pictures to really shine. The clothing, the dirt, the expression, and the props.

Pete will then go into how he produces the portraits including how he lights them, what he has found to be good working exposures, the poses that work well, and how many shots he tries to make. These portraits are also about efficiency.

Finally, we’ll go into the post production that he does to finish these images along with sizes he offers to clients. These are commissioned portraits rather than volume sessions.

Questions - Its his goal to leave you prepared to start producing these as soon as you are ready. The great thing about in person education is being able to ask questions. So please don’t be afraid to ask - it’s the best way we can all learn!

    Image Critique

NOTE: Image Submission Deadline: November 5th@ 6PM

There are few educational opportunities that help improve your understanding of image quality then print critique and print competitions.

During image critique, members may submit up to 4 of their images (digitally submitted through the PrintCompetition.com website) to be evaluated by our panel of judges. After reviewing each image and giving a 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' score, each judge will in turn discuss every image that has been submitted to help the maker improve upon the image and potentially prepare it for higher level competitions.

There is no charge to members to submit images for this image critique. Non-members may enter up to 4 images as well for a fee of $20 (in addition to meeting fee).

Submitting for Image Critique is easy: Just follow these simple steps to upload your images:

    1) Go to www.printcompetition.com and click on 'free registration of new user' if you have not already used printcompetition.com, otherwise log in with your exisitng User ID and Password (this is the same system we use for Arizona State Image Competition)

    2) Once you are registered and logged on, click on the AZPPA box (shows August 1 2017 as date).

    3) Select if you are a member, and also if this is the first time you are entering an AzPPA image event.

    4) Click on the 'Create New Image Entry' button, then enter the information prompted (title of your image, category, and select if digital effects performed by you or not).

    5) Click on 'Create New Entry' button and then upload your image.

Repeat the above steps for up to 4 images you would like to have critiqued.

It's that simple. If you are new to image critique and competitions, start your journey now towards improving your photography and taking the first steps towards earning your PPA Masters Of Photography or Master Artist degrees at the International Print Competition.

By receiving feedback on your images now, you will be better prepared for submitting your images at State, District and International Levels (it is the International Level where your images can start earning merits towards earning a PPA degree).

If you are experienced with image critiques and competitions, now is the time to have qualified judges help you understand ways to improve your images before you enter them at State, District or International.

Need help with uploading or registered, or not sure where to start? We are here to help you. Just contact Bob Zimmerlich at bob@clickchickphotography.com with your questions.
