Have you thought of entering print (image) competition but didn't know where to start?

Do you want to start your journey to achieve a Master Of Photography degree with PPA? AzPPA Apple Award?

Most importantly are you interested in improving your image making skills?

Image Competition is one of the best educational opportunities you will have in photography to truly improve your skills. Understanding the various levels of competitions, what the judges are looking for in an image, and how you can prepare your images to improve your score is all part of the learning process to become a better photographer and deliver quality images to your clients.

It's not really about competition against other photographers (although there are rewards for that), but rather it's about pushing yourself and competing against yourself to always improve and understand the fundamental basics of what makes a good image. These are the same rules that applied to paintings by the Old Masters as well as today's photographer!

Bob and Connie will walk you through the entire process from image selection, preparing the image for competition, the 12 elements of a merit image, the advantages of entering image competition, and more. There will also be a demonstration on taking a RAW image, retouching it, creating a proper presentation for the image and uploading it for entry into image competition.

Since this is being held at the Siena Artè Portraiture studio, there is a limited number of seats available (16) so if you are interested please register (all attendees MUST register prior to this class).

    Hope to see you there!

    Special Guest Jeffrey Shaw

Make Your Photography Business Irresistible By Speaking The Secret Language of Your Ideal Customers

Jeffrey Shaw is host of the popular business podcast Creative Warriors, a TEDx speaker, a featured storyteller on The Month, and a nationally acclaimed keynote speaker at creative and business conferences.

For more than three decades, Jeffrey has been one of the most sought- after portrait photographers in the U.S., photographing the families of such notables as Tom Seaver, Pat Riley, David Bloom, Stephanie Seymour, and C-Suite executives from Twitter, Anheuser Busch, 3M, as well as Wall Street leaders too many to mention. His portraits have appeared on the Oprah Show, in People magazine, O Magazine, and others.

Having a keen eye isn’t just for what one sees, but also for what one senses. Jeffrey Shaw, a.k.a. the Lingo Guy, uses this honed intuition developed as a photographer to teach entrepreneurs how to attract their ideal customers by speaking their Secret Language.

He’s the author of the book, LINGO: Discover Your Ideal Customer’s Secret Language and Make Your Business Irresistible.

Jeffrey is the father of three adult children and resides with his two dogs in Miami.

    Program Description:

Make Your Photography Business Irresistible By Speaking The Secret Language of Your Ideal Customers

Have you ever noticed that the clients you jump through hoops for are often the least profitable? While the clients that are the easiest to work with spend the most amount of money? Those are the clients you want more of, right?

Imagine a photography business where every one of your clients is worth your time and effort. Imagine no longer having to convince people of your value and the value of professional photography and instead, only work with people who already value you and what you offer.

The problem is that in your business there is a gap. A gap between your brand messaging, how to promote your business, and what your ideal customers need to see, hear, and feel to be motivated to work with you. However, by speaking the Secret Language of your ideal customers—their Lingo— you will close that gap. In this program, you’ll learn how to attract your ideal customers, offer the services they most want, and develop experiences to wow them.

The result will be a photography business that is more profitable, you’ll be able to create your best creative work, and build relationships with clients who will come back year after year and will rave about you to their friends. Not only will your business become irresistible, but running your business will be easier than it’s ever been and your life more fulfilled.

You can also purchase signed copies of LINGO in advance (there’s a bulk rate- 30% off. Total cost is $13.27 per book) or purchase that evening for $18.95 and Jeffrey will be doing a book signing.   If you are interested in pre-ordering a book, email Andrew Faulds at andrew@studio3images.com by July 20th .

    Image Critique

NOTE: Image Submission Deadline: November 11th@ 6PM

There are few educational opportunities that help improve your understanding of image quality then print critique and print competitions.

During image critique, members may submit up to 4 of their images (digitally submitted through the PrintCompetition.com website) to be evaluated by our panel of judges. After reviewing each image and giving a 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' score, each judge will in turn discuss every image that has been submitted to help the maker improve upon the image and potentially prepare it for higher level competitions.

There is no charge to members to submit images for this image critique. Non-members may enter up to 4 images as well for a fee of $20 (in addition to meeting fee).

Submitting for Image Critique is easy: Just follow these simple steps to upload your images:

    1) Go to www.printcompetition.com and click on 'free registration of new user' if you have not already used printcompetition.com, otherwise log in with your exisitng User ID and Password (this is the same system we use for Arizona State Image Competition)

    2) Once you are registered and logged on, click on the AZPPA box (shows November 2019 as date).

    3) Select if you are a member, and also if this is the first time you are entering an AzPPA image event.

    4) Click on the 'Create New Image Entry' button, then enter the information prompted (title of your image, category, and select if digital effects performed by you or not).

    5) Click on 'Create New Entry' button and then upload your image.

Repeat the above steps for up to 4 images you would like to have critiqued.

It's that simple. If you are new to image critique and competitions, start your journey now towards improving your photography and taking the first steps towards earning your PPA Masters Of Photography or Master Artist degrees at the International Print Competition.

By receiving feedback on your images now, you will be better prepared for submitting your images at State, District and International Levels (it is the International Level where your images can start earning merits towards earning a PPA degree).

If you are experienced with image critiques and competitions, now is the time to have qualified judges help you understand ways to improve your images before you enter them at State, District or International.

Need help with uploading or registered, or not sure where to start? We are here to help you. Just contact Bob Zimmerlich at bob@clickchickphotography.com with your questions.
