    Motivational Photography
    Tony Mandarich

Come experience Tony demonstrating how he creates his breathtaking portraits.

Tony Mandarich was born big. He was a big kid.

He was big in grade school. He was bigger in high school. He was huge at Michigan State, studying communications and public relations thanks to a football scholarship.

Tony has always aspired to greatness, and fervently believes that to do exceptional, extraordinary things, you have to be willing to break the rules, and go where others won't.

He played college football in the mid 1980's, was twice named All American and twice named Big Ten Lineman of the Year. In 1987, his team won the Big Ten Championship and the Rose Bowl.

Tony was the second player selected in the 1989 NFL Draft. He was an offensive tackle whose professional football career with the Green Bay Packers and the Indianapolis Colts spanned a decade.

All the while, Mandarich was thinking big, crazy creative thoughts. His love for photography began in 1989 in Venice Beach, California. Tony himself was being photographed for the cover of Sports Illustrated Magazine and was fascinated by how the photographer "shaped light" to create his images.

After he retired from football, and after years of perfecting his own craft as a professional photographer, Tony Mandarich achieved prominence and renown for his uniquely compelling images...sought-after by art directors, ad agencies and digital marketers.

Tony never does anything small. And his big, bold composite photographs blend people and backgrounds in distinctive and dramatic ways.

These pictures are uniquely his...and all are images that make viewers stop, take notice and pay attention.

"Tony Mandarich uses his incredibly vivid imagination to create composite images that grab viewers by the knees."

    - Richard A. Nulman, former CEO of Pace Advertising Agency, a WPP Company

2 - Writing out the game plan!

    3 - Preparation!

(wardrobe, hair & MU, props, collaboration & building rapport with talent)

4 - Execution (photo shoot)(if we decide to have a model this is where we will shoot)

5 - Post Production (using PS CC, Capture One, Plugins etc in workflow)

    Image Critique

NOTE: Image Submission Deadline: November 5th@ 6PM

There are few educational opportunities that help improve your understanding of image quality then print critique and print competitions.

During image critique, members may submit up to 4 of their images (digitally submitted through the PrintCompetition.com website) to be evaluated by our panel of judges. After reviewing each image and giving a 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' score, each judge will in turn discuss every image that has been submitted to help the maker improve upon the image and potentially prepare it for higher level competitions.

There is no charge to members to submit images for this image critique. Non-members may enter up to 4 images as well for a fee of $20 (in addition to meeting fee).

Submitting for Image Critique is easy: Just follow these simple steps to upload your images:

    1) Go to www.printcompetition.com and click on 'free registration of new user' if you have not already used printcompetition.com, otherwise log in with your exisitng User ID and Password (this is the same system we use for Arizona State Image Competition)

    2) Once you are registered and logged on, click on the AZPPA box (shows August 1 2017 as date).

    3) Select if you are a member, and also if this is the first time you are entering an AzPPA image event.

    4) Click on the 'Create New Image Entry' button, then enter the information prompted (title of your image, category, and select if digital effects performed by you or not).

    5) Click on 'Create New Entry' button and then upload your image.

Repeat the above steps for up to 4 images you would like to have critiqued.

It's that simple. If you are new to image critique and competitions, start your journey now towards improving your photography and taking the first steps towards earning your PPA Masters Of Photography or Master Artist degrees at the International Print Competition.

By receiving feedback on your images now, you will be better prepared for submitting your images at State, District and International Levels (it is the International Level where your images can start earning merits towards earning a PPA degree).

If you are experienced with image critiques and competitions, now is the time to have qualified judges help you understand ways to improve your images before you enter them at State, District or International.

Need help with uploading or registered, or not sure where to start? We are here to help you. Just contact Bob Zimmerlich at bob@clickchickphotography.com with your questions.
